Outgoing students
A study abroad is not only a great challenge but as well a unique opportunity to get to know a new country, gain intercultural experience, new perspectives on your studies and to enhance your language skills. In the course of the third or fourth semester of your studies at CBS you have the possibility to study abroad at an international university of your choice. You are free to choose between studying at one of the app. 40 partner schools of CBS within Europe or overseas or to apply to a school of your choice all over the world. Please attend our Study Abroad information sessions, which are offered during Introduction Week, at the beginning of your second semester and in the course of the semester and contact the International Office for individual advice. Furthermore, talk to your fellow students, who have already completed a study abroad semester ask them about their experience.
Services of the International Office for Outgoing Students include:
-
General advice on Study Abroad and on the planning of a study abroad semester
-
Information sessions on Study Abroad

International Incoming (exchange) students
Every year CBS welcomes new international students on its campus from all over the world. With their backgrounds from China, Italy, Finland, the U.S. or Mexico, they help to make life on campus an intercultural experience while at the same time getting to know the German culture. The International Office supports all incoming students with information and advice on living and studying in Cologne and at CBS. On request we find a “Buddy” for you who takes you to the foreigners' registration office or for a Kölsch to one of the pubs in the Südstadt.
CBS Partner Schools
Furthermore, the International Office is responsible for the coordination of the partner programmes CBS undertakes with its various partner schools and the initiation of new partnerships. Should you know an international and officially recognised university, which offers a study programme that may be interesting to CBS students, please contact us. We will try to initiate an new partnership agreement with this university.
