The competition theme for this year’s ITB Berlin:
„Market Gaps in Tourism – who will discover them?“
Goal of the Competition, Prize and Award
The goal of the award is to support new ideas and young talent in the German speaking tourism industry. The competitors are challenged to identify gaps in the international tourism market and present future oriented concepts which can lead to further growth in the market. Creativity, Courage and ‘thinking out of the box’ are the essential components sought after in finding new, original and even unorthodox ways of developing the tourism market…and in winning the Competition!
The initiative, sponsored by the CBS, is designed to motivate those who are considering further education and/or a career in the travel industry, to spend their time and energies in generating new paths into the future of this growth industry. In this way, CBS is making a positive and pro active contribution to the development of young professionals for the tourism industry.
The climax of the event is the awarding of the CBS sponsored prize on the main stage of the Science Hall of the ITB 2008 in Berlin. The top three contestants will present their ideas to a highly interested professional audience and have the opportunity to network directly with them.
The first place prize winner, aside from the reimbursement of travel and hotel costs incurred by their visit to the ITB, will be awarded a full scholarship for the six semester Bachelors programme at the CBS, „International Business, Tourism Event Hospitality Management“ in Cologne (current value approx. 25,000 Euro).
Second and third place winners will receive a travel voucher.
The deadline for submissions for the CBS Sponsored Prize has passed. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who participated for their excellent contributions. With the great response and excellent contributions, it was extremely difficult to reach a final decision.
The Winners of this year’s CBS Sponsored Prize will be announced on Saturday, March 8th, at 15:10 on the main stage in Hall 5.1.
