Process of application for German students:
For your application, CBS requires you to show your „Allgemeine Hochschulreife“ or „volle Fachhochschulreife“ or an equivalent international qualification (e.g. A-Levels, Baccalauréat).
Please note that enrolment is only possible for the winter semester.
Please enclose the following documents with your application:
- Completed application form
- Letter of motivation
- CV in tabular form
- Two passport photographs: one paper photograph and one JPG file
- Copies of your last school certificate, school-leaving certificate, respectively supporting documents about professional training or work experience
Furthermore CBS requires a high proficiency of the English language . This can be proved by an English language test at CBS or by a TOEFL: 560 points paper-based, 220 points computer-based, 83 points internet-based or IELTS: at least score 5 or APIEL: Grade 4. All certificates must not be older than two years.

Further process:
Having received your application, our staff in the Admissions Office will check your documents and invite you to the Assessment Centre. Here, your study aptitude will be tested over a two-days period in writing and oral form. Alternatively an English interview by phone is possible. If you are successful you will be offered a university place at the CBS. In order to keep this place you have to confirm it within a certain time limit.
We can provide a list of accommodation in Cologne, within a radius of 5km from the CBS, where you can stay during your Assessment Centre days.
We would be very glad to help you in any way with your decision to study. Please do not hesitate to contact our advisor to make an appointment, without obligation, where we can inform you on all details of our international study programme. We would also be happy to give you the opportunity to visit some of our lectures for a day and look around to get a feel for CBS. You are also welcome to visit CBS at our Open Days to get an impression on the campus.
