The CBS degree in International Business offers you a choice of six specialist areas:
Within each degree study focal point you can set your own individual courses. You can choose from, for example, International Finance, International Marketing or International Accounting.
From the first semester you will be shown the most important building blocks for successfully appearing in public and in the working world. CBS offers you training in intercultural competence, communication and rhetoric as well as moderation and presentation skills. You can put what you have learnt into practise at events and fairs, for example, the International Tourism bourse in Berlin.
Language is the gateway to the world! Besides the study language English, you can choose further languages in the Bachelor programme: French, Spanish – or in focal point East Asia Management – Chinese or Japanese. Additionally, every further foreign language course takes place outside of the regular curriculum and is free of charge as long as there are eight regular participants. For those interested, there are additional Knigge seminars with practical tips for business etiquette in various countries. You can also obtain language certificates in most of the languages on offer from The Chamber of Commerce and Industry or a Cultural Institute. The CBS also offers the exam for Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC Higher).
It is essential for a successful career to know how to use technical tools. For this reason we have complemented our degree course with training in typical office applications such as Word, Excel or Access, and design tools for presentations, and web design such as PowerPoint and Flash.
In the framework of Studium Generale workshops, guest lectures and excursions allow for direct dialogue with businesses.
You can intensify your international orientation during your degree course though an obligatory work experience abroad, as well as through an optional semester at one of our renowned partner universities. The credits earned at an overseas university are automatically added on at CBS. This is possible due to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) which simplifies the process.
